The 50’s have slowly been reviving and this year, retro is hot!
What’s it going be? Ladylike and elegant as Grace Kelly or, glamorous and sensual as Marilyn Monroe? Either way, there’s no wrong answer.
As a personal lover of 50's fashion, this blog post was extra special to me.
Today I will be giving you some hints and tricks into the secret styles of the 50's.

Colours: White, cream, brown, black, yellow, bright orange, pops of blue and mint green, lavender, and grey.
Key Piece: The paint-splattered bustier dress; an embellished bustier was an unexpected counter to a polished white skirt and bright orange jacket. Be sure to try out some playful one-piece bathing suits. Bonus - they are flattering for most body shapes. Lastly, The 'Playsuit' is also a popular piece this season.

Try these: Lace-up pointed-toe booties, pointed-toe pumps, ankle-strap sandals, structured satchels or cat-eye sunglasses.

You don't have to love everything retro to appreciate a pin up girl look from time to time. Try these tips the next time you want to be the sexy girl-next-door:

- Use foundation to even out your complexion and follow up with a dusting of loose powder.
- Brush your eyebrows into place and color in any sparse areas with eyebrow pencil.
- Sweep a natural colored eye shadow all over your lids, using a slightly darker colour in the crease. Apply liquid or gel black eyeliner (thin line) on your upper lids, create a slight 'cat eye.' Finish with a decent coat (or two) of black mascara.
- Apply a baby pink or peach colour to your cheeks.
- Line your lips with a red lip liner and then fill in with the red lipstick (or hot pink) of your choice.
